Daniel Dineen Wallis

Daniel Wallis ObituaryDeceased May 4, 2019.

Daniel Wallis, age 71, passed away May 4, 2019. The beloved son of the late Gustave and Mary Elizabeth Wallis, he grew up in Avon and Rocky River. After his high school graduation, he became an apprentice jeweler. In a short time his artistic abilities expanded to the design and creation of one-of-a-kind pieces, and that remained his passion throughout his career. He founded Broestl & Wallis Fine Jewelers, establishing a store in Lakewood in 1987. Dan retired in 2008, and his partner and cousin, Jeff Broestl, is now the sole proprietor. In June of 2017 Dan achieved his lifelong dream of retiring to Florida, and that is where his family will scatter his ashes on his next birthday. He is survived by his sons DJ and Scott, his grandsons Max and Parker, and his sister Maureen Hartung. Those wishing to honor him may make a donation in his name to the American Diabetes Association at P.O. Box 15829, Arlington VA 22215, or www.diabetes.org.  Published in The Plain Dealer from May 22 to May 26, 2019.
