Michael Angelo Mango, who was born on June 1, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, peacefully passed away on January 5, 2024, in Frisco, Texas.

Michael was the son of Philip and Angelina Mango of Rocky River, Ohio, and the brother of Angelo Mango. He was a graduate of Bowling Green University and a devoted fan of Cleveland sports, experiencing the triumphs and tribulations alongside his beloved teams. In 2016, he had the privilege of attending a Cleveland World Series game with his daughter Melissa and rejoiced in the victory of the Cavs championship that same year.

Michael was a beloved coach to his kids and hundreds of youth in the Carrollton/Farmers Branch area. Football, baseball, softball his love of sports kept him connected to his family, community and where he met some of his closest friends.
Aside from his passion for sports, Michael pursued a career in education and later became a dedicated teacher in CFBISD, earning several esteemed accolades including two-time VIP of Teaching as well as the Lamars Honor.

Michael is survived by his loving children, Philip, Melissa, and Marci Mango, all residing in Dallas, his cherished grandchildren, Michael Reilly, Emma, and Halle, brother Angelo (Cheryl Mango) and nieces/nephews Dawn, Stacy, Philip, Angelo, CJ, Luke and Leah plus many other loving family members.

Michael is now reunited with his parents, Judy, other relatives, and his beloved Honey, Lani Mango, in Heaven. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, January 20th at 3:30pm at the T. Boone Pickens Faith Presbyterian Hospice at 12477 Merit Drive, Dallas TX.
