Here's the list of our classmates you'll see if you click on Military Service.

If there are names you don't remember, here are their yearbook pictures from 1965.

We appreciate what they did for our country and their comrades.  Your comments are welcome on this Forum. If you see any at the reunion, please say thanks.

If you served and are not listed, or served in any support capacity, please email Sue Blouch at seblouch@gmail.com.  Thank you.

Sue

Over the last three days I have had the honor to give American Flag pins to our class veterans who attended the reunion events.  At the main event last night they were honored and throughout the night you could identify our veteran classmates by their lapel pin.  If I have missed you please contact me and I will get a flag pin to you.

We have had amongst us.....

Artillerymen who lived on fire support bases that were always the target of attack yet still provided needed fire support to protect infantrymen engaged with the enemy;   An F4 Phantom jet pilot who provided lifesaving close air support to ground troops in combat and bombing runs into the north;  A combat infantry officer who's likelyhood of survival was small yet led men into combat;  An MP wounded during the Tet Offensive in the "Battle for Hue"; and a combat infantryman M60 machine-gunner (a specific target of the enemy because of its destructive firepower) who was seriously wounded while engaged with the enemy.  We have veterans that served in the States working on satallite communications to help then and into the future and others that provided important service to our country both here and Germany.  I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to hear at least some of their amazing stories.

When I think of these men I can easily understand how great the class of '65 truly is and I am reminded of a sign above the exit of the Rocky River High School men's locker room.  It has driven me from a young freshman throughout my life and I'm certain these men and many others from our class as well.  It states:  "WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH - THE TOUGH GET GOING".

Please continue to honor these brave men and let them know how very proud you are of them.

God Bless our military men & women, the extrordinary class of 1965 and the United States of America!
